Oak Tree Project was formed in 2013 with only a few mentees (students). Each year we have accepted more students while retaining those who keep with the requirements of our program (GPA, financial records, commitment to be mentored). 2014 was our second class of students, 2015 our third, and 2016 our fourth. Each student has been paired with a mentor who is committed to the student all throughout university. As of 2016, Oak Tree Project includes 18 mentees, each from children’s homes within Seoul. Oak Tree Project’s hopes to have 25 students in the program in 2017 and expand to reach orphans in other areas of South Korea. All of the students featured on these pages are currently with our program or are alumni. We are proud of our Oak Tree Project students!
“My dream is to become a travel agent. I once went on a trip to Japan with my children’s home and it was very memorable. I look back on that trip a lot; I want to plan out the most memorable trips for other people through being a travel agent.”
“My dream is to serve with World Vision, traveling around the world to share the good news of Christ and share his love with people in need.”
Ji Hwi was accepted into a Christian musical group and also has a part time job. She continues to be connected with her former mentor Jee Lee and has shared her testimony of how Oak Tree Project blessed her with our current students.
