February was a full month for Oak Tree Project. We had our 1st annual lock-in with all of the female students and mentors staying the night at our apartment (18) and all the male students and mentors (8) staying at an airbnb in Hongdae. At both lock-ins we shared testimonies with the students and also taught on purity and other important subjects (I taught the male students how to “Be A Man” which included protecting, providing, and being confident). Some of the students cried as they opened up and received prayer from our mentors in small groups after the testimonies and teachings. Afterwards they expressed how it was their favorite event so far with Oak Tree Project and they are already looking forward to our next one. The intimacy at the lock-in was very sweet. Thank you for your prayers!
This past Saturday we held orientation for our 4th class of students (6 new students). We shared with them the history and vision of Oak Tree Project and then went over the rules and responsibilities for receiving the scholarship. The students then met their mentors over lunch. We were pleased by how attentive the students were and we have great expectations for them. This year we have 18 students on scholarship including three students who will graduate after this year.
Here is a picture of our newly accepted 4th class of students with their mentors.

– Please pray for our 6 new students and our returning 12 students to all start their new school semester well (school starts on March 2nd). Please pray for our 6 new students to open up quickly with their mentors and for our mentors to have wisdom and discernment with their students. I have copied below our updated roster of our students and mentors.
– Praise God that we are fully funded for 2016! We always make sure to raise funds in advance. We are now in the process of raising funds for 2017 and our goal will be well over $150,000. This month I hope to connect with international schools in Seoul regarding future fundraisers (such as having students participate in Oak Tree Run to raise funds for the orphans). Please pray for doors to open and for Oak Tree Project to receive more support. If you have any connections that you think might be interested please reply and let us know.
– Our main objective this month is to fully update our websites (both English and Korean). Please pray for grace over my staff as we work to get the media updated (including pictures and profiles of our new students) and the Korean site fully translated and updated by the end of March.
Thank you so much for your prayers! God bless!
